Benjamin Seibt studied at the University of Bonn, where he acquired a diploma in pharmacy and the title “specialist pharmacist for drug information”. During his PhD, Benjamin Seibt worked at the University of Barcelona (Spain) and at the Max Planck institute in Göttingen before finishing his thesis as a scholarship fellow in pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Bonn.
At national and international conferences he presented scientific posters and gave presentations, e.g. in the Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Australia and Japan. Benjamin Seibt works on an honorary basis on the board of the pharmacists Nordrhein (deputy). After completing his PhD, he traveled around the world as a backpacker and met many interesting people on all continents. Afterwards, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Australia at the University of Melbourne and the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. In 2013, Benjamin Seibt was awarded the “Bayer Promotionspreis” for his exceptional PhD thesis. In 2014, he received the “Young Investigator Award” in Canberra (Australia) for his scientific achievements by the “Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand”.
Benjamin Seibt founded the company Dr. Seibt Genomics in Bonn in 2014. He has also been a lecturer at the University of Applied Science in Cologne since 2014 and he is a member of the Supervisory Board (deputy) of the pension fund of pharmacists in Nordrhein since 2016. For the establishment of business relations for Dr. Seibt Genomics, he has traveled with the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy to the Oman, Qatar, Croatia, India, Japan and Brazil. Dr. Seibt Genomics is one of the industry partners of the Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Grant as a part of Horizon 2020 of the European Commission with a focus on pharmacogenomics and genetic testing for Alzheimer’s disease and depression.
